Global HR Director

Reporting to the Division President, you will lead an international HR team, leveraging COE support. In this role, your key areas of focus will center on leader consultation, talent development and ongoing compliance. Implementing new talent programs will be important, as recruiting and development are key pillars that will support the growth of the business unit and broader enterprise. Additionally, ensuring that the company remains compliant within its complicated and heavily regulated industry will be essential to success.
The ideal candidate for this role will be a broad HR generalist, with experience in all areas of the function in a hands-on capacity. Experience in both manufacturing and corporate environments will be important, as 60% of the employees supported by this role are in manufacturing environments. You should also have experience in global companies, and the capacity to support manufacturing facilities and sales organizations around the world.
 

Key Functions and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the strategic leader of HR for the business unit. Partner with HR leaders in the broader enterprise to align on people strategies and effectively share resources.
  • Serve as a partner to  business leaders, providing strategic counsel on matters related to human capital. Ensure HR decisions are made with a lens on the business, and make sure HR is valued and tied to these decisions.
  • Develop strategies and implement programs to support talent development within growing leadership capability within the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations, as well as industry specific and complex regulations like ITAR.
  • Employ innovative and creative methods of attracting and retaining employees in a strong labor market. Build effective employee engagement and retention programs, drive consistency across processes and create an improved candidate experience, from job posting to interviews and onboarding.
  • Utilize Diversity and Inclusion strategies to create a more inclusive environment and employee experience. 
  • Anticipate future business needs, assess shifting business directions and the changing workforce, analyze emerging trends and seek opportunities to develop or expand programs to support strategic business objectives.

Knowledge Base and Experience
 
  • Cultivated a broad HR generalist background from working in all functional HR areas.
  • Knowledge of best-in-class HR practices and policies, with the ability to scale, translate and implement those practices and policies in a new organization.
  • Worked in a company that has employees in both manufacturing and corporate environments around the globe.
  • Operated as an HR business partner, connecting HR strategies with business goals.
  • Experience with various HRIS systems, especially in an implementation capacity.
  • Learned how to best support high-level strategic initiatives such as organizational design or succession planning.
  • Proven ability to think beyond people strategies to benefit the business.
  • Understanding of operating in a Center of Excellence model and lean manufacturing business programs (preferred).
  • Experience integrated acquired organizations (preferred).

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Ten or more years of progressive experience in HR.
  •  Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA) strongly preferred
