Talent Acquisition Specialist

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for attracting, recruiting, and screening qualified applicants. Collaborates with the Talent Acquisition Leadership to ensure department and organizational staffing goals are met. Represents the organization at career fairs. Provides support to leadership on the entire talent acquisition process, including advising on staffing policies and procedures, developing an ongoing pool of qualified candidates, posting and applicant screening or interviewing, documentation and post-hiring activities, and establishing working relationships with internal and external contacts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 
  • Performs full-cycle recruitment activities for all applicable entities including; posting, sourcing, creating job offer, and conducting the required pre-employment screenings.
  • Proactively create applicant pools and talent pipelines by posting job ads through job boards, social media, state employment agencies, professional associations and employee referral programs.
  • Creates and maintains reports.
  • Provides excellent customer service and communication to candidates and hiring managers through the recruiting process.
  • Coordinates and conducts new-hire onboarding activities and presentations
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and best practices related to recruitment, hiring and employment.
  • Monitors and reviews onboarding training modules and reports on past due and incomplete statuses
  • Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; maintaining rapport
  • Effectively creates and maintains relationships with external recruiters for both direct hire, contract, and temporary placement positions.
  • Organize and attend job fairs and recruiting events
  • Suggest new ideas for improving talent acquisition activities
  • Assists with securing documentation and certification required for annual state audit.

EDUCATION
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred or equivalent experience. 
  • PHR/SHRM certification preferred.
