Contract People Services Operations Manager

Phoenix, AZ
This is a hybrid position and will be a 3 month assignment.  

The role is responsible for enabling and inspiring employees to achieve their greatest potential and achievement and realizing organizational performance gains of a thriving culture.  This leader focuses heavily on the Reporting, Project Management, New Onboarding, Benefits, Employee Engagement, Legal & Compliance and Offboarding processes. This role requires the highest level of confidentiality and excellent judgement, and a drive to innovate in the People Services areas of practice. The PS-OM is a direct role requiring tactical function and requires performance of operations and administration of People Services. This role works collaboratively with development, operations, sales, and marketing to constantly evolve and support the performance results of the entire Team.

Employee Engagement
  • Function as Facilitator for Best Places to Work and related Manage employee engagement surveys and reporting
  • Ensure compliance through management of job descriptions update and revision process

Recruiting & Onboarding
  • Ensure compliance with the requisition to hire process documentation in alignment with approved budget
  • Coordinate onboarding from the acceptance process for both new hires, promotions and changes and continue to  automate welcome process with required documentation
  • Manage I-9 process and ensure legal compliance regarding I-9 and E-Verify requirements
  • Manage on-boarding process presentations

Performance Management
  • Support managers with employee relations issues
  • Facilitate inquiries and ensure all documentation is accurate and timely
  • Execute consistent performance management and goal reporting processes
  • Ensure all existing and new managers receive appropriate training in Performance Management

Benefits Administration
  • Enroll all new employees in portal according to eligibility and provide accurate, timely reporting to payroll
  • Receive, audit, and approve benefits provider billing for all coverages
  • Facilitate the annual renewal process while consulting with Benefits Brokers
  • Provide day-to-day support of employee questions on our benefits program or connect them with our help line.
  • Assist with Affordable Care Act (ACA) filings through the employee benefits portal
  • Function as plan administrator for 401(k) Employee Savings plan, working our consultants and third-party administrator

Employee Movement
  • Manage employee transfer and separation process
  • Refer requests for reference verifications and Equifax
  • Arrange and conduct engagement and exit interviews & reporting; confidentially manage data and trends that arise
 
Payroll
  • Ensure that HRIS data is accurate to assist payroll processing, employee timekeeping, and payroll changes
  • Support the external processing of the bi-weekly payroll

Other
  • Proactively find ways to improve processes and policies
  • Manage immigration visa status as needed; consult with immigration attorneys on process
  • Other duties and assignments as required

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or HR management or related area
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an HRBP or Generalist role, GRBP preferred
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
  • Expertise in legal compliance both at the Federal and State levels, Global, firsthand experience highly preferred
  • Unshakable level of internal customer focus and confidentiality
  • Excellent ability to communicate proactively as well as in critical situations
