Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist ensures accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll, provides timely and accurate financial information and performs daily data entry. The Payroll Specialist will also interact with employees to resolve any payroll issues and perform general office administration tasks such as filing and data processing.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Monitor electronic time-keeping system and process records daily making corrections as required · Perform audits of hours worked ensuring accuracy for payroll processing · Create and distribute labor hours reports to all branches · Administer payroll policies and procedures for employees · Process and monitor garnishment orders · Process off cycle checks · Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns · Train new employees how to use the time-keeping system · Keep current with relevant taxation changes on pay and benefits · Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS · College degree in a related field preferred · Two or more years of experience in a payroll processing position · Detail oriented and ability to work in a fast paced environment · Business focused attitude with high level of professionalism and discretion · Ability to effectively multi-task in a fast paced office environment · Strong communication skills and ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquires or complaints · Well organized with demonstrated time management skills · Must be able to work occasionally on holidays and overtime as required · Roofing/Construction Industry background preferred · Sage 300/Timberline, ADP and Kronos Workforce experience preferred · Advanced user skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook · Bilingual English/Spanish is an asset
