Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Tax Director/Partner specializing in Mergers &
Acquisitions (M&A) to join our team. In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for managing
all tax-related aspects of M&A activities. Your primary focus will be on providing strategic tax guidance,
overseeing a team of professionals, and ensuring compliance with both domestic and international tax
regulations. This role is essential in optimizing tax opportunities and mitigating risks associated with
mergers and acquisitions, while maintaining and building strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax strategies that align with business goals to
maximize tax efficiency across all M&A activities.
• Expert Advisory: Offer expert guidance on complex domestic and international tax issues,
including compliance, planning, and risk management.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, assessing their
impact on both the organization and its clients.
• M&A Due Diligence: Lead and coordinate comprehensive due diligence efforts for M&A
transactions, identifying potential tax risks and opportunities.
• Deal Structuring: Collaborate with legal, financial, and operational teams to structure deals in a
tax-efficient manner.
• Post-Merger Integration: Provide strategic advice on post-merger integration and restructuring
to optimize tax benefits.
• Client Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor, conducting client meetings and presentations, while
building and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of
collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Tax Compliance: Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns to ensure accuracy and
compliance with relevant regulations.
• Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with tax authorities, addressing inquiries,
audits, and compliance-related matters.
• Risk Management: Monitor the organization’s overall tax position, developing and implementing
risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Certified Public
Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 12 years of experience in tax planning, compliance, and M&A
transactions. Extensive knowledge of domestic and international tax laws and regulations.
• Leadership: Proven experience in business development within the tax domain, with strong
leadership and team management skills. A track record of developing high-performing teams is
essential.
